Take the weekend and chill

I don’t know about you but I am drained, this week will rank up there with other important dates and times in my life. Its a good exhaustion though, I didn’t sleep for almost 48 hours because I was so ramped up about the election, however the dust is settling and its time to shift gears and relax.

I start my new job next week, sadly while its an awesome position, its a non-profit agency so the pay is less than desirable which means I will still be working my inner Rick Ross and doing the hustle with clients on the side.

So as I get ready to kick back and enjoy the weekend, I am thinking of all the small things that give me pleasure in life. I enjoy a good cup of coffee, home-cooked meals, the afterglow of good sex, relaxing with my kids and quiet moments with my husband. Speaking of the spousal unit, Lord willing this Sunday will mark our eleventh wedding anniversary. This past year has been the toughest we have endured but all relationships have their ups and downs. Happy Anniversary Mister Man. you still make me smile.

So have a great weekend, and if you feel like sharing, what are the simple pleasures you enjoy in your life? See ya on Monday.

  1. Happy Anniversary! My husband and I just celebrated our 10th. One simple pleasure of mine is curling up with a good book under a soft warm blanket. Ah…bliss.

  2. Awwww . . . congrats to you both!!!! Happy 11th Anniversary and here’s to many more.

Can’t wait to hear how the new job treats you! I hope it will be a fabulous experience. No matter what, always keep the side-hustle a going!

My simplest pleasure is a cup of freshly brewed chai and a freshly made cinnamon bun or other soft, warm pastry, quietly, 5:30 in the morning before the kids wake up. 🙂

  3. Happy pre-anniversary to you, too, mi corazon!

(No, I’m not conversant in much Spanish, and not a trace of Latin blood in me…but the wife likes the sound of some Spanish too…aural gratification is another thing that makes her happy.)

Here’s hoping we have 11 more after this, and 11 more after that…more importantly, that I keep making you smile in between the groans and eye-rolling I also inspire.
    😉
